so my daughter and I went to a Gogol Bordello gig last night. I fucking LOVE Gogol, and being the GypCee that I am, it's only natural to associate myself with some crazy ass gypsy punk rockers who use slogans on stage like " Think Locally - Fuck Globally" heheeThey are, to me, one of THE BEST live bands I've EVER followed. (and i've seen 1000's of gigs- so that's some mad respect right there :)

So- i pick up my daughter and we are both looking like true gypcee girls, heart and soul, that we are. She is quickly growing up and has turned out to be one of the most influential and incredible people of my lifetime(s). She's funny, smart, unique, giving, and my very best friend in the world. we've been on a long journey together, and her being almost 18 years old now is, yet, another turning point for us.
i'm proud beyond words at what an incredible daughter, and human being that i have raised, along with the colorful TRIBE of family and friends that have helped along the way.
We make our way to The Grove in Anaheim (great place surprisingly!) only to find out that the show is SOLD OUT.(really?! in Anaheim? OC? a gypsy punk Gogol show? awesome) - so I show the kid the art of buying scalped tickets at a show, and within 10 minutes have picked up $20 tickets to get us in. (fucking sweet! the whole reason i didnt buy from Ticket-lick my balls-Master is that they are a rip-off, so my point was proven beautifully to her that you shouldn't have to buy into corporate bullshit prices when you can get Tix for $20!
I was so stoked- as we were making our way in - i ran into 2 killer friends of mine - Bob and Michelle. I love these guys! The last time i saw them was up in Forest Falls in the mountains with their crazy ass baby in their beautiful gypsy den home. We all get our spots picked out for the gig and prepare ourselves for an incredible nite of energy fueled music and vibes.
And - true to GB form- GOGOL delivered an amazing super long set of fucking mind blowing, ball busting, sweat inducing, crazy ass from all over the world Gypsy Punk Rock RIGHT into our souls. The crowd danced the whole nite- the mosh pits were so fun and everyone had the BEST time. My baby and I danced the whole time! 
School and work nights are so much cooler when they are fueled by late nite gigs, wild gypsy-punks, good friends that you don't see enough of, and always........... dancing and live music!
go see Gogol whenever you have a chance.
you will not be disappointed!
